"The Butcherette"

Hey there all,
I had some time at the shop today while one of the Machining Centers was cycling, so I decided to try my hand at a Necker type knife.
Material is CPM S30-V, and overall size is .140 * 1.000 * 3.000.
I still need to send the 4 I made off to Heat Treat, give em a bit of a tumble, then add the final edge. Oh yeah, gotta do some Kydex sheaths too.
I'm not certain if there will be a production run, gotta give them the field test first.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look,
Kenn

Kenn,

Very intersting skeletonized design of the handle.

It looks great with the thumb grooves on the top spine.

It should be very easy to control the blade.

congrats on a great design!

Kenn,
Very excited to see this product, do you need a tester? It fits the legal requirements for NYC knife carry nicely. No risk of confiscation, it would get daily use. Thanks for your time. I'm anxiously awaiting the little folder too.

John,
As always, thanks for the kind words.

melman8r,
I'm good, I have my own testing facility right in my front pocket;)

Kenny I like what I'm seeing :)

I think these new projects you have been doing are a fantastic addition to the JMA lineup.

Will these go for sale on your site or whats the plan?

Thanks Wes,
I haven't decided if there will be a real production run or not, but when these protos are all set, I will post 3 of them for sale here exclusively . I'm keeping one;)

Are the grinds also done with a CNC?

Kenn Jordan Jr. said...

Darriel,
Yes the grinds were interpolated with the CNC.
One roughing pass & one finish pass with a 3/16 diameter carbide ball mill.
